Hi, I’m Maggie.
For every story, every identity
A New Bedford wedding photographer and self-described mini historian, documenting weddings, milestones, and the everyday moments that eventually become part of someone’s story.
How I Fell in Love With Photography
I got my hands on a camera at a very young age. My mom had a few old film cameras around the house, and I would sneak them out and experiment with them—even when I probably wasn’t supposed to. At first it was simple curiosity: pushing buttons, turning dials, and seeing what would happen.
As I got older, that curiosity slowly turned into appreciation. I began to understand photography not just as a tool, but as an art form and a way of preserving moments that would otherwise disappear.
Photography matters on a deeply personal level, but it also matters on a much larger scale. It documents history. It captures the lives of people who existed—real people, real lives, real relationships—and preserves those stories long after the moment has passed. In many ways, I see photography as a form of quiet historical record keeping. A photographer becomes a kind of mini historian, documenting the everyday moments that eventually become part of someone’s story.
Why Photography Matters to Me
That perspective especially shapes how I view photographing queer love and queer lives. For much of history, many of those stories were not documented, archived, or preserved in the ways they deserved to be. Photography allows us to change that. It allows us to record the presence, joy, and humanity of the communities around us.
I studied anthropology and sociology in college, and those disciplines deeply shaped the way I think about photography. They taught me to pay attention to culture, identity, and the ways people move through the world together. That perspective is embedded in my philosophy as a photographer: documenting people honestly, respectfully, and with an awareness that the moments we photograph today become part of the history people look back on tomorrow.
Why Photographs Matter
And sometimes, that history becomes deeply personal. Especially when it comes to the lives of loved ones who have passed, there is nothing quite like being able to look at a photograph and feel memory return in an instant. A single image can bring back the sound of someone’s laugh, their mannerisms, the stories they told—sometimes even the feeling of being in the same room with them.
Time keeps moving forward, but photography gives us the ability to return to the past in a tangible way. It allows us to pause, reflect, and remember the people and moments that shaped our lives.
Art is powerful, and photography holds a unique place within it. Few things have the ability to preserve human experience the way a photograph can.
Today, I photograph weddings, engagements, and milestone moments across New Bedford, the South Coast, and throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. My approach is documentary at heart—observing, anticipating, and preserving moments as they naturally unfold.
Because years from now, the photographs we create together will become part of your own history.
MY APPROACH
Today, I work as a New Bedford wedding photographer and portrait photographer, photographing celebrations and milestones across the South Coast of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and beyond.
My approach is documentary at heart. I focus on observing, anticipating, and capturing genuine moments as they naturally unfold, while also creating timeless portraits that feel authentic and true to you.
I want the photographs we create together to feel honest, personal, and lasting—images that you’ll return to years from now and remember exactly how everything felt.
What It’s Like to Work With Me
Most couples I work with tell me they were nervous about being in front of the camera at first. That’s completely normal.
My approach is calm, observant, and collaborative. I’ll guide you when you need it, but I also give space for moments to unfold naturally. Some of the most meaningful photographs happen when people forget the camera is even there.
On a wedding day, I’m paying attention to the little things as much as the big ones—the quiet glances, the laughter between friends, the way family members hold onto each other during emotional moments.
Because those are often the photographs that matter most years later.
Many couples tell me the experience feels relaxed, natural, and genuinely enjoyable.

Community & Work
Alongside weddings and portrait sessions, I’ve also had the opportunity to photograph work for Explore New Bedford, helping document and celebrate the community, history, and culture of the city I call home.
New Bedford’s cobblestone streets, coastline, and historic character continue to influence how I see light, space, and storytelling through photography.
